Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a simple way to make regular donations directly from your salary. It is one of the most tax-effective ways of giving to charity as it comes out of your gross pay (before tax) so it will cost you at least 25% less.

  • If you earn a salary or pension and your employer deducts Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax, you can donate your pay.
  • If your employer already supports payroll giving, speak to them about setting up your monthly gift.
  • If your employer doesn’t support payroll giving, they can easily set up the scheme by contacting Charities Aid Foundation and Benevity. Or they can select from any of the HMRC-approved Payroll Giving Agencies.
